Ocean Remote Sensing Techniques and Applications: A Review (Part II)

نویسندگان

چکیده

As discussed in the first part of this review paper, Remote Sensing (RS) systems are great tools to study various oceanographic parameters. Part I described different passive and active RS six applications ocean studies, including Ocean Surface Wind (OSW), Current (OSC), Wave Height (OWH), Sea Level (SL), Tide (OT), Ship Detection (SD). In II, remaining nine important for environments, Iceberg, Ice (SI), temperature (SST), Salinity (OSS), Color (OC), Chlorophyll (OCh), Oil Spill (OOS), Underwater Ocean, Fishery comprehensively reviewed discussed. For each application, applicable systems, their advantages disadvantages, Machine Learning (ML) techniques, several case studies

Image fusion techniques for remote sensing applications

Image fusion refers to the acquisition, processing and synergistic combination of information provided by various sensors or by the same sensor in many measuring contexts. The aim of this survey paper is to describe three typical applications of data fusion in remote sensing. The first study case considers the problem of the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry, where a pair of antenna...

Review of Remote Sensing Image Segmentation Techniques

Image segmentation is an important tool in image processing and can serve as an efficient front end to sophisticated algorithms and thereby simplify subsequent processing. Image segmentation by region merging follows a particular order in the choice of regions. The target of segmentation is always to simplify and/or change the representation of a graphic into something that is more meaningful a...

Understanding Forest Health with Remote Sensing-Part II - A Review of Approaches and Data Models

Stress in forest ecosystems (FES) occurs as a result of land-use intensification, disturbances, resource limitations or unsustainable management, causing changes in forest health (FH) at various scales from the local to the global scale. Reactions to such stress depend on the phylogeny of forest species or communities and the characteristics of their impacting drivers and processes. There are m...

identifying and monitoring dust storm in the western part of iran using remote sensing techniques

mineral dust can directly affect the solar and terrestrial radiation in both visible and infrared (ir) spectral regions through scattering and absorption processes. due to specific optical properties of dust particles, satellite observed radiances carry the spectral signatures of dust particles that are different from molecular, cloud, and underlying surface. based on these differences, various...
